The Outdoor Code
As an American, I will do my best to -
- Be clean in my outdoor manners,
- I will treat the outdoors as a heritage. I will take care of it for myself and others I will keep my trash and garbage out of lakes, streams, fields, woods, and roadways.
- Be careful with fire,
- I will prevent wildfire. I will build my fires only where they are appropriate. When I have finished using a fire, I will make sure it is cold out. I will leave a clean fire ring, or remove all evidence of my fire.
- Be considerate in the outdoors,
- I will treat public and private property with respect. I will use low-impact methods of hiking and camping.
- and Be conservation minded.
- I will learn how to practice good conservation of soil, waters, forests, minerals, grasslands, wildlife, and energy. I will urge others to do the same.
Welcome
You have found Outing in Scouting. This site is designed as a place to share outing locations for Boy Scout of America Packs, Troops, Teams and Crews. We decided to do this site in a wiki so that you can share your favorite places to camp with other scouters. Please take a moment and read the Sharing Guide.
Please reread the outdoor code above. It is paramount that we respect our limited outdoor resources. In addition we ask that you teach your scouts about Leave No Trace and follow its guidelines. We will not hesitate to remove a camping location if we receive reports of abuse or over-use. Please leave these sites better than you found them.Currently this wiki is focused on the Las Vegas Area Council. If you would like to start using this wiki for your area please contact us.
Please be aware that this wiki is young, the only way it will grow is if each of us takes time to contribute.
